2005 Dodge Dakota Reviews
Fully loaded My first Dodge that I ever purchased. Not a bad rig, except for the brakes. They're lousy! Should've been better since my truck came with a tow pkg. At any rate, this beast has every option that was available in '05 (minus ABS, sunroof and leather).
Pros: Strong V8, power seat, tow and convenience pkgs.
Cons: Drinks a lot of gas!
2005 Used Dodge Dakota 4 Dr SLT 4WD Crew Cab SB: It's mine and I love it! Perfect small pickup, much better than a chevy or a ford. Bigger engine, cab, bed, bigger all around.
Pros: 4.7 L 306 HP, Quad cab. 4X4
Cons: Gas mileage - 13mpg.
2005 Used Dodge Dakota 4 Dr SLT Crew Cab SB:
good truck for work or cruising
A good, solid Mopar truck that is great as long as you spring for the 4WD, V8 model. Even
though it may sound like it will be a lot worse on gas, in reality it won't be. Trust me, been
there, done that! An overall nice truck.
Pros: appearance, ride height, dependability, ergonomical
Cons: fuel economy, traction (2WD model only), wheel size (even 18's seemed small), engine
2005 Used Dodge Dakota 2 Dr ST 4WD Extended Cab SB: My First New Vehicle I loved this truck for the 2 years I had it. It had a V8, 4WD, and a 6-speed manual transmission. I factory ordered it exactly how I wanted it. It drove beautifully, and hauled a load in the back handily, although it didn't like trailers too much. I beat on it a little bit, and it constantly found itself back at the dealer's service department. The service and repair history on this thing was insane! Other than that, I loved this truck, but she started falling apart at about 70,000km's, was HORRIBLE on fuel, and consequently had to go
Pros: Good fun truck
Cons: Questionable Quality, essentially a 2-seater, but had seat beats for 5
Second Dakota, love it as much as the first The 2005 is the second Dakota I've purchased. The first, a 93 2WD is still in the family with almost 200,000 miles. Only complaint I have is that I can't find parts to fix the older one easily, no one is getting rid of them so its off to the parts store. Only repairs I've really had to do on the older one is water pump (mediumly difficult) and replace radiator(couldn't have been much easier).
