PT Bearnum is a 2001 PT Cruiser Limited.  Many mods have been done - from wheels and tires to chrome trim and a full "woody" body kit.  Slowly but surely, PT Bearnum has gone from 'plain jane" with some factory options and accessories to full blown show car.  The 2.4 litre motor provides adequate performance and the handling is near perfect.  Fully loaded as the Limited Edition model - power seat, windows, mirrors, locks, tilt, cruise, AC, leather, power sunroof and more, it's a fantastic value.  The only downfall is the weight and the gas mileage.  The basic PT Cruiser weighs in as much as the larger Dodge Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country short models.  That leads to gas mileage that is far from stellar - usually low 20s for typical mix of highway and city/stop & go driving.

Pros: comfort, versatility, style, equipment, price, ride, performance, aftermarket parts & accessories, built in car club culture.
Cons: rather poor gas mileage for a car of it's size and the 4 cylender motor.

What is this car? Is it a car? Or a wagon? Crossover? The PT Cruiser is difficult to classify as it looks like a combination of many things, you sit in it fairly high like a small truck or crossover and for the most part it drives like a car. The engine has surprisingly more than enough torque for everyday and spirited driving though fuel comsumption suffers when pushed too much. Its handling is quite good though a bit on the touchy side, while the brakes are unacceptably touchy and overly assisted. If deciding what to call it gave you a headache then avoid the interior as its layout makes no sense at all. Window switches are centrally mounted on the console and rear seat passengers have no switch of their own. Doors lock manually and individually. Really the only good part is that the rear seats fold and can be removed to increase cargo space.

Pros: Rear seat design, handling, peppy engine
Cons: Grabby brakes, interior layout, styling

Problems with defective paint on bumpers. Didn't show up for a couple of years. By then the dealer wouldn't fix it. Slow upon acceleration, but the power is there on the other end, if you need to pass someone. Gas mileage isn't that great. Brakes need replacing fairly frequently because the car is probably too heavy for the frame. I recommended it to two friends and they both bought one!

Pros: Great fun and lots of clubs to join.
Cons: Gas mileage

I bought it used in 2002 and have had to replace the brake pads and change out the battery a couple of times - that's it.  The ride is harsh on bad roads, but otherwise it is a wonderful, practical car.

Pros: Reliable
Cons: Harsh ride at times

Interior looks well made and put together
Has never left me stranded
Peppy with the standard and non turbo
Cheap to buy used, and cheap on parts
Its a reliable car that has space for 5, or fold the rear seats down and get a lot of storage room, or take the seats out, all while getting 26-33MPG

Pros: Relaible
Cons: Poor turning radius, expencive engine work on labour portion

Appearance, it only takes two different ways...love it or hate it....

the build need repairs once in a while, but it´s because of the road.....

Gas mileage...for the kind of motor it consumes to much xD

Pros: Appearance and Performance
Cons: Gas mileage!!!

This is one of the best cars ive ever owner.  Its not the fastest or best handling cars, but the styling is awesome.  Its pretty cheep to own and good on gas.  Tons of storage space and super comfy with four adults.

Pros: It looks good
Cons: not fast, only looks like it can move.

I like the fact that my car stands out in a crowd.  The only thing that I can't stand about it is that it is so weak in the engine.  I wish that they had produced a 6-cylinder at least.  The 4-banger is a descent one that does have some good pick up, just not enough for me.

Pros: Car looks very distinctive and is extremely comfortable inside.
Cons: POWER, POWER, and guess what...MORE POWER!
