Actualy, the best car I ever had.. Not because it was fast, nor too beautiful. It has soul. Thats it. This 1984 Estelle (120L) helped me reach any possible place i wanted to get to, gave me the freedom and love to travel, and because of her i became addicted to long distance driving.
The 120L is verry easy to handle, reliable if you know haow to mainatain the engine, amazingly comfortable, with a little bit sporty look and spirit.
Last year replaced the old 120 engine \over 700.000km!!, 100.000 of them - mine\ with a new improved and tuned 135 engine. With the 4 gear box it gives the car amazing acceleration, high speed and it is verry funny to look at the faces of the people with new shiny cars when you pass them by at the highway with 220 km/h ....

I bought my Skoda Rapid Coupé (based on the Estelle) simply because it was both cheap and unusual. The test drive revealed it to be a pleasant driving experience, but the gearbox was, simply put, the worst I've ever experienced outside a Fiat. But since my Grandad was part-financing the venture, he had a say in it. He loved it, so we bought it.

After he stopped driving I discovered the engine had some potential. A friend skimmed the head, we stuck a 40mm Weber carb on it, and ran it one weekend on ethanol. It was mental. And it could handle it. The downside was that the car seemed to have been designed with a sugar-cube in hot tea in mind. The body died way WAY before the engine was even near the end of it's service life.

Pros — Easy to work on. LOTS of them to strip in scrapyards. Tuneable engine.
Cons — Rotbox Extraordinaire. Rubbish gearbox. Underpowered.
