Reviewing: 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Work Truck

Overall this truck is great for people who have never owned one before (like me). It has a very nice appearance overall and drives solid. I have some upgrades planned to make it a much more fieldable truck. The acceleration isnt bad for a 4.3 Liter, V6, cranking out 195 horses under the hood. I am looking at doing some performance upgrades as well though. The top speed of this tiny monster is 99 MPH. I believe there is either a speed governor or an RPM limiter installed (I will take it off/disable it later)

Pros — Well put together
Very cool design
Exterior and Interior work in tandem
Good acceleration and handling is not too shabby either
Very strong metals used, multiple crash zones
6.5 foot truck bed standard provides plenty of room
Most towing in its class, in stock form.
OnStar for free
Cons — Brakes do NOT perform well at high speeds
Very heavy in the front end (duh!)
Not much room behind the seats
Very low to the ground in the front
Aerodynamics of the vehicle are a bit sketchy

A wonderful truck with great gas mileage! Well, for a truck! I get about 20 on the highway
and 17 in the city.

Pros — Everything
Cons — Nothing
