This car is great. Had some problems with it, but warranty covered it and if it even if it didn't i would be glad to pay $2000 to get a new transmission in here. This car is amazing to drive, great stock handling, great after market brakes. Great car for anyone that love luxury and power combined in one at an affordable price. Well affordable now used, not brand new when i got it.. and its great on gas!

Pros — great car
Cons — nothing

Performance: It has decent acceleration, mediocre braking, decent handling...

Build Quality: It's based on the Accord, so it isn't amazing.

Appearance: Anthracite Metallic / Black Interior

Cost of Ownership: City 19 MPG / Highway 27 MPG

Fun Factor: The sound of hitting VTEC.

Near-future Modifications: ATLP Exhaust System, AEM V2 CAI, 30% Tint, Tokico Illuma Suspensions / H&R Sport Springs

I would recommend it if it didn't have a flakey transmission.

Pros — Hearing the VTEC.
Cons — Transmission Failure (Mine hasn't failed... yet)

It was a toss up between this and a BMW 330i. I liked the 330i because they offered it in a manual transmission, but comparably equipped, the BMW was 10k more. The transmission could use some redesign, but overall, I'm pleased with the car. Been running Mobil 1 since about 20k miles, and it's got 125k on it now - not burning any oil, and has gotten 24.1 mpg (19-34) over its life.

Pros — Honda reliability most everywhere 'cept the transmission
Cons — have i mentioned the transmission?

fit and finish is great but that engine is crazy....prrrss when you are crusing but when you stomp on the gas ...you have just unleashed a lion...But one problem..the tranny is soft..due to defective parts and material selection on honda's part...and they openly admit it in recall letters but never in public..go figure.....anyways...just be prepared to pay at least 4 grand for a rebuilt tranny for this puppy....and for all you ppl who will read this ....NO i didn't drive this car like a retard...with a heavy lead foot...its all long distance driving and commuting from home to work and daily trips to the city...and yes i did all my car up keep religiously even with the dealership, using the best synthetic oils in the busness ie...lucas oil and royal purple..from what i understand they fixed the tranny problem in the 04's and up.....Dont' get me wrong....i still love acura power but i'd just get the improved model from this one.

Pros — great engine, fast when you need it to be
Cons — tranny is soft ie: defective torque converter ...4k to to get a rebuild tranny

Performance: It has decent acceleration, mediocre braking, decent handling... for now >:)

Build Quiality: It's based on the Accord, so it isn't amazing.

Appearance: It's got a lot of small scratches, I need to clay it, wash it, wax it. I need to re-do the headlights, grille, b-pillars, door trim.

Cost of Ownership: Surprisingly uses a lot of gasoline for a sedan. Hasn't had any infamous Acura 5-speed tranny problems... knock on wood.

Fun Factor: It's got a decent stock Bose sound system, 6-CD Player, but who uses CD's :/

Pros — It's Japanese :P (Even though they don't sell this particular one in Japan.)
Cons — Needs detailing and aftermarket parts and it'll be good to go.

This car is so fun to drive! It accelerates pretty fast and has 220 horse power. It also has the craziest braking ability plus turning. I like to speed around in it and it does have a decent miles per gallon. It also is semi-manual.

Pros — Fast acceleration.
Good handling.
Good braking.
Cons — Nothing.

Fun to drive...great features.  Crappy air conditioning, which in Texas is a big deal.  About to go buy an '08 TL
next week.

Reviewing: 2002 Used Acura TL S

Had the car for almost a year. It was a company car. I was very happy with the upscale interior and the large boot space. The car was very comfortable to drive on long trips. The engine was very powerful and made an amazing noise when accelerated on full throttle. Handling was also excellent. Type S features a sports suspension but doesn't compromise ride quality. One major disadvantage is the notchy automatic transmission that takes forever to find the right gear. The car is solid thought and a good buy with all the "goodies" that includes like power everything, leather etc.

Pros — engine, built, handling
Cons — notchy transmission
