2002 Acura RSX Reviews
| “Acura's Should Never Have Dropped This Car” Reviewing:
2002 Used Acura RSX Type-S
Everything came standard on the Type-S, with no options really to be had. The car is telepathic in terms of communicating the road through the steering wheel and seat. You can feel the friction and contact patch on each individual tire. Off the line is a decent start, but top end is lacking due to the 4 cylinder engine. You can whip this car through an autocross course beautifully. Lots of trunk space and front wheel drive makes this car more practical all year round than one would initially think.
Pros —
Telepathic steering and maneuverability
Cons —
Anemic torque

| “02 Rsx Type S” Reviewing:
2002 Used Acura RSX Type-S
I love the overall feel of the car, but the tranny on it has a ton of defects, and they have to be delt with before you can really tear into it. The cornering is better than any car I have driven so far but the back end seem to get away from you around 65 ish. When the I-Vtec kicks in at 6,000 RPM and takes you to red line (8,200) the car really comes alive! T he Bose sound system is awesome and you get all of this with out sacrificing MPG (29 in town, 36 Highway)
Pros —
Cornering, I-Vtec, Power, Looks, MPG
Cons —
Transmission

I LOVED this car!! I'm a compulsive car buyer, so when this car came out and replaced the Integra, I had to have one. When I worked at Honda, my Used Car manager went to the auction and bought it for me. It came directly from American Honda, was never titled and only had 1000 miles on it! Unfortunetly my love came to an end when I dated a guy who ALWAYS wanted to drive the car...which forced me to buy another car before I couldnt get rid of the RSX anymore.
Pros —
EVERYTHING!!
Cons —
NONE!!

| “Acura Has Done A Great Job In Producing A Sports Car For Its Make.” Reviewing:
2002 Used Acura RSX Type-S
The RSX has great acceleration, ok breaking and the handeling is nothing to complain about. Simple repairs and minor adjustments have been made over the coarse of me owning the car. I have changed the exterior to somewhat replicate the ITR model in Japan. I have also changed the front end to an 05-06 model front end.
Pros —
peformance, handling, fun
Cons —
none

| “Gone But Not Fogotten” Reviewing:
2002 Used Acura RSX Type-S
A big leap over the Integra, the RSX Type-S brought the smallest Acura more in line with the rest of the Acura lineup by adding a slew of luxury features and higher level of performance. While it's 200 HP appears impressive, the i-VTEC engine never seemed to fulfill it's promise of sports car performance. Reserving it's power for a VTEC surge at about 5200 RPMs, the Type-S was great for highway sprints, but always seems numb on the daily side road commute. Build quality was exceptional though and for a car in it's class, it was a performace deal.
Pros —
Best dash of any car I've owned (make more like this Honda!) Respectable handling and acceleration.
Cons —
Bland exterior, somewhat cheap interior plastics.

| “2002 Acura Rsx Type-s” Reviewing:
2002 Used Acura RSX Type-S
This badass Acura has 200 hp to the engine and 142 ft lbs of torque with 60K miles on it. The style is great and the interior has a awesome look! There are endless upgrades you can do to this car. Just becareful what you put on and how you do it because it could lead to some mechanical problems. The car is very fun to drive and is good on gas. Usually my tank lasts about 2 weeks and I get about 300 miles to the tank. I would recommend this car to anyone that wants something reliable but still has a sporty look/feel.
Pros —
Style and interior.
Cons —
Not enough torque.

| “You Can Never Go Wrong With An Acura” Reviewing:
2002 Used Acura RSX Type-S
Best choice for the price. Six-speed manual transmission is so much fun to drive. Lots of choices for mods. Could use a bit more torque on the low end, but that's pretty typical of Hondas in general.
Pros —
Fun to drive, quick, 6-speed, decent gas mileage for a sports car.
Cons —
Could use more torque on the low end, second highest fatality rate for its model year.

| “Why Rsx” Reviewing:
2002 Used Acura RSX Type-S
If you got 10-15k to hang around a car, you for sure want to spend on this car, the DC5 integra, aka, usdm RSX is a fun car to drive with high rev with out sacraficing loads of gasoline, sexy body shape, with 6 speed on the type s it's the perfect combination for a fun car. 10-15k would buy you a already nicely owned one, tuned one usually runs around 15k tag.
Pros —
High rev ivtec engine, low rolling, not much problem, sexy
Cons —
ivtec will for sure get you pulled over.
