LS 1.9 TD (turbo diesel, 90bhp, 148 lb.ft) Best car I have ever driven, driving it hard gave a generous 35 mpg! Very comfortable on long and short journeys. Performance was brilliant, traffic light grand prixs were fun. Loads of torque at motorway/dual carriage way speeds too. The long wheelbase like the 405 meant it had a smooth ride and handling of bends and corners was NOT "hang on for your life"

I like: It's fast and it is stability at high speeds. It also brakes very good. It also looks good.

its a pleasent little work horse and it gets me from a 2 b and i like that the mpg isnt to bad, it loves the a1 and borehamwood and the only snag is the poor stereo but i love peugots and would love a new one

It is overall pretty good build quality, and a cheap car to own. god space and driving comfort. it is a 1,8 litre engine / 117 hp, so it's a little slow on acceleration and topspeed. I want a bigger engine!!

This is a 1999 Peugeot 406 with a v6 engine, manual gearbox.
Pros:
Driving performance, engine, mechanical build quality, comfortable, cheap, nice neutral looking car, lots of trunk space, plenty of space and comfy rear seats, very silent, and so on and so on...
Cons:
Some of the electronic things in this car is not very well made, so it might break down at some point. The A/C doesnt have a long life, and might aswell break down at some point.

its a good family car its comfey hard to get nicked build to last good on petrol handels well graet in the rain and the snow not to bad on petrol it was low to the ground for someone who is tall good on handerling go buy one tomorrow l

Very economical - has averaged 6.1l/100ks over the time we've had it. A couple of electrical niggles (but it is french after all). Wifey would love a new 407 hdi but you can't get manual ones here anymore. Ours has after market leather too which is very nice. Lovely car to drive long distance and does corners none too shabby (for a family sedan).

The 2 litre HDi peugeot 406 was good-looking and very economical, the most i got from a full tank was 850 miles which was incredible. It wasnt very reliable though, giving me fairly frequent problems, including rear suspension problems which caused me to put it in a hedge. It went down-hill from there so i had to get rid of it.
