1992 Chevrolet Caprice Reviews
“We Wore Her Out”
We have owned a Carice Classic since 1990, it was an 1985 with the 305 engine. It treated us really well, until some moron ran into the driver's door, then it looked like junk, and I sold it and bough a 1988 Caprice, not the Classic. It had the 4.3L and was good on gas, but had little power. shortly after buying it we found a beautifull 1992 with 140,000k on it. That was back in 2000. now it has 285,000 on it and we have replace the transmission (we pulled a camper with it, I don't recomend it) and we put a new motor in it, but we went from the 305 to a 350. It doesn't run properly now, it hesitates. Although it does get great mileage, the hesitation is very annoying. Still love the car though!!!
“Excellent Family Highway Cruizer”
I have owned Caprice Classics for years now, my first on was a 85, now I have a 92. It has 285,000 on it, we have replaced the engine and transmission, but the transmission was due to pulling our camper, these cars are not geared for pulling. We averaged about 32 mpg highway at 110km/hr. Major comfort, nice stereo, huge trunk.
