2003 Porsche 911 2 Dr GT2 Turbo Coupe

The Porsche 911 GT2 Turbo coupe was the highest-performance 911 available for 2003. It was powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine that produced 456 horsepower. That was enough to drive the GT2 from 0 to 60 miles per hour in about 4 seconds.
A six-speed manual overdrive tranmission was standard. Porsche's five-speed automatic Triptronic transmission was not available for the GT2.
The GT2 was lighter than the 911 Turbo, due to a number of alterations. While the Turbo was an all-wheel-drive vehicle, the GT2 was a rear-wheel-drive vehicle, which helped reduce its weight. In addition, special sports seats were added to the GT2 package, and the rear seats were eliminated.
In keeping with the GT2 Turbo's racing heritage, the vehicle came with a stripped-down list of standard features, when compared with the other 911s, but was still nicely outfitted with such features as air conditioning, leather seats, dual front and side airbags, an anti-theft alarm system, bi-xenon high-intensity headlights with headlight cleaners, anti-lock brakes, fog lights, 18-inch alloy wheels, and a rear spoiler, as well as powered windows, steering, and door locks. In addition, Porsche added an in-dash CD player to the GT2's standard AM/FM audio system for 2003.
The GT2 was also equipped with Porsche's ceramic composite brakes, an industry first.
The 2003 Porsche 911 GT2 was one of a long line of near iconic Porsche sports cars that promised a lot to drivers, and delivered on those promises in almost every way. Drivers noted that the car's power, handling, precise steering, braking, suspension, and interior all met or exceeded expectations. Drivers also noted that visibility out the rear was exceptional, as was reliability.
