The King Cab has a longer 6.5-foot bed, but seven inches less backseat legroom.  The rear window is not power-operated, but fixed, though a manual sliding window is optional, and doors are reverse-hinged, rather than conventional.  The 2005 Nissan Titan XE King Cab 2WD is a rear-wheel drive base model of the full-sized pickup, with a 5.6-liter, 305-hp V8 engine and 5-speed automatic, front independent and rear live axle suspension, and 17-inch steel wheels.  Alloy wheels can be substituted.  4-wheel ABS brakes, a tire monitor, skid plates, and dual front airbags are standard, but side impact bags for both rows are extra.  Traction control is not offered.

Unlike the Crew Cab version, the 2005 Titan XE King Cab 2WD does not come with power windows and locks, but it does have cruise control, air conditioning, intermittent wipers, a tachometer, and a CD player.  There are front cupholders and a front storage compartment and the rear seats split-fold.  The cargo bed has tie-downs and trailer wiring, which can be supplemented with a bedliner, cover, and extension.  A trailer hitch lets you tow up to 9400 pounds.  Satellite radio and new privacy glass are available, but a security system is not offered on the King Cab.  Highlights are the acceleration and towing power of the V8 and the cabin space, but there are reports of brake wear.  Drivers also don't like all the plastic.
