Part-time, driver-engaged 4WD is added to the 2005 Nissan Frontier LE 4WD King Cab, for more rugged and durable performance in tricky circumstances than in the rear-wheel drive version.  Backed up by a 265-hp, 4.0-liter V6 and a new 5-speed auto tran (no manual is offered), the 2005 Frontier LE 4WD King Cab features an independent double wishbone front suspension and live rear suspension, 4-wheel disc brakes, 4-wheel ABS, a tire monitor, and dual front airbags.  These can be supplemented with side impact bags and traction control, helping earn 4 and 5-star ratings for the mid-sized pickup.  For the 4WD only, Hill Descent Control is available, which reduces wear and tear on brakes.

Cruise control, power windows, locks, and mirrors, a CD player, leather trim, a tachometer, foglights, and intermittent wipers add a more upscale look to the LE 4WD King Cab, and storage consoles and cupholders add convenience.  A bedliner is included for the 6-foot cargo bed, but a roof rack, tie-down rails, a bed cover, and an extension are extra.  A trailer hitch can also be added and can tow up to 6500 pounds.  A CD changer, wheel-mounted audio controls, an alarm system, and satellite radio are optional.  Owners of the 2005 Frontier LE 4WD King Cab like its performance, the extra power, and its hauling capability.  The new styling is nicer, though the interior plastic dings easily.  The backseat is not really fit for any but the smallest human beings.
