A redesign to its mid-sized family pickup added 10 extra inches to the wheelbase, and the 2005 Nissan Frontier Nismo 4WD Crew Cab puts this extra room in the backseat, with its 33 inches of rear legroom, eight more than in the King Cab.  Of course, the bed is only 5 feet and holds 27 cubic feet of cargo, 7 cubic feet less than the King.  The 2005 Frontier Nismo 4WD Crew Cab features part-time 4WD combined with a stiffer suspension, skid plates, a rear locking differential, ABS brakes, traction control, a tire monitor, and dual front airbags (side impact are extra).

This year it adds a new standard bedliner and the optional Utili-Trak rail system in the bed, along with an extension, cargo cover, and trailer hitch.  A roof rack is also available.  Powered by a 4.0-liter, 265-hp DOHC V6 and 5-speed automatic (both new), the pickup comes with full power features, cruise control, leather trim, foglights, a CD player, and split-folding rear seats.  Stability control and the convenient Hill Descent control are optional, along with a sunroof, satellite radio, a CD changer, and wheel-mounted audio controls.  Biggest complaints seem to be gas mileage, wide turning ratio, and cheap interior materials, but the V6 power, handling, 5-star safety ratings, and roominess rate high.
