The 2005 Nissan Frontier was redesigned from the ground up. Then Nismo, Nissan's tuning division, stepped in and gave it a little extra twist.   They added a locking rear differential, a Rockford Fosgate stereo option, larger off-road tires, stiffer Bilstein shocks, hill-descent assist, and special badging.

The Nismo Frontier's stance is altered by its taller, more aggressive tire package, sitting 2 inches taller than comparable models. The hill descent kicks in while coming down a steep decline, allowing you to worry less about applying the proper amount of brake. The 2WD models also have a locking rear differential that helps enormously when going off-road.

The 2005 crew cab models were given some extra legroom as well. This was a 3-inch increase (from 30.7 to 33.6 inches) due to the redesign. The wheelbase was also stretched (thanks to the shortened Titan frame) an additional 7 inches overall.
