A lot more standard features are included in the redesigned 2005 Nissan Frontier LE 4WD Crew Cab, not the least of which is the part-time 4-wheel drive.  Though the smaller 5-foot bed makes this family pickup less practical as a hauler, the 4-wheel drive and 4.0-liter, 265-hp V6 (matched to a 5-speed automatic only) with 284 lb-ft of torque means there's a lot of power and, well, pickup to this pickup.  Some 5-star safety features include 4-wheel disc brakes, 4-wheel ABS, automatic headlights, foglights, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a tire monitor, and dual front airbags.  Side impact bags for both rows and traction control are extra.  The 4WD LE Crew Cab also makes stability control and Hill Descent Control available.

Two rows of seats fit four comfortably, and the rear seats split-fold.  The back window slides open manually.  A roof rack is standard, as is a new bedliner, but tie-downs, a trailer hitch (tows up to 6500 pounds), a bed cover, and bed extension are extra.  Inside, the 2005 Frontier LE 4WD Crew Cab features full power setup, cruise control, a garage opener, leather trim, a security system, and intermittent wipers.  Heated leather seats and mirrors, power front seats, a CD changer/MP3 player, wheel-mounted audio controls, satellite radio, and a sunroof are optional.  Drivers rate the power and performance highly, saying the 4WD is very capable, and they also like the increased cabin size.  Easily scratched plastic materials, a 15/20 mpg, and a wide turning radius are downsides.
