The 2001 Mazda 626 ES was the high-end version of the sedan. It is available with the base engine or the V6. The base engine is a 2.0-liter, 130 horsepower four cylinder. Fuel economy is about 22/28. The ES is well-equipped, coming standard with power windows and doors, leather seats, and a CD player.
Most drivers are happy with their 2001 626 ES, saying it handles well, has a peppy engine, and comes with a lot of luxury features. However, some complain that the interior is a little cheap looking, and some are still having problems with the automatic transmission.
