The 2003 Kia Sedona EX minivan distinguishes itself from the base LX by adding more standard equipment, two-tone exterior body cladding, and a roof rack, which is only optional on the base.  The two trims share the 195-hp, 3.5-liter DOHC V6 and 5-speed automatic and 15-inch wheels.  Dual front airbags are standard, but no side impact bags are offered.  ABS is optional.  Nevertheless, the solid and heavy minivan earns 5-star frontal impact and rollover ratings.  The front-wheel drive Sedona EX seats seven in three rows, with the rear two rows removable for extra cargo space.  The front seat features captain's chairs.  Front and overhead consoles, 12 cupholders, power outlets, and a fold-down tray are some nice conveniences.

Other standard equipment includes power front seats, full power features, a CD player, intermittent front and rear wipers, foglights, automatic headlights, remote entry, a remote garage opener, and leather and wood interior accents.  EX-only options include leather seats and a sunroof.  A rear spoiler and trailer hitch are also available.  Fuel economy, an uncomfortable driver's seat, and limited rear cargo space with the seats up are common complaints about the 2003 Kia Sedona EX.  But the affordability, long list of features, roomy interior, and safety ratings seem to outweigh the negatives.
