The LXi was again the lone Cirrus model for 1999.  While no unique new features were added, the sedan saw minor revisions in several areas.  The new winged Chrysler badge was placed in the center of the grille, and 15 inch chrome wheels were included as standard.   The instrument layout received a subtle redesign, and a softer suspension system was added.
The LXi was still powered by the same 2.5 liter V-6 engine, which made 168 horsepower and generated 170 pound feet of torque.  The only transmission was a four-speed automatic, and every Cirrus used front wheel drive.  The Cirrus was not a sports sedan.  Acceleration from 0 to 60 required a bit of patience, and the softer suspension compromised the previously nimble handling.  The sedan was marked by its smooth ride and spacious interior.  
The LXi also included an abundance of creature comforts and amenities.  Leather trim, premium sound, and heated seats were all available as add-ons.  All power features were standard.  The cup holder design was frequently cited as a small but nagging issue, with many owners reporting that anything larger than a small coffee cup would not stay in place.
