The 300C series offered a more upscale version of Chrysler's acclaimed new sedan.  Sitting at the apex of the 300 family, the C includes a larger engine, more refined transmission, and several additional interior appointments.
This 300 houses a 5.7 liter Hemi V-8 which makes 340 horsepower and provides 390 pound feet of torque.  The larger engine will nearly cut 0-60 time in half, verses the base V-6 model, down from over ten seconds to just under six.  Gas mileage will suffer a bit with the addition of all wheel drive, falling to 17/24 mpg.  However, the 300C offers a unique feature: the engine can run on four cylinders when less power is needed.  This factors in to the car's mileage to performance ratio quite favorably.
Chyrsler has not been able to maintain the same reputation for quality and reliability as other American auto manufacturers.  Drivers report mostly small problems, but nagging problems.  Mechanical malfunctions and interior degradations top the list.  Within months, the 300 was selling faster than Chrysler could pump them out, and the C soon had a waiting list.
