The 2009 Toyota Tacoma Access Cab 4WD comes with suicide-style rear doors that open up to rear jump seats, four-wheel drive, and a two-speed transfer case, as well as a limited-slip differential and traction control. A raised suspension and 16-inch tires distinguish it visually from 2WD models, and it’s powered by a 2.4-liter inline four, with the buyer’s choice of a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic. A full-size spare comes standard, as do a bedliner and painted bumpers. Air conditioning, power windows and locks, as well as front bucket cloth seats and a center console, are all standard, and the front passenger seat folds flat. An AM/FM/CD/MP3 player with digital media connection takes care of audio duty, and a tilt and telescoping steering wheel will ensure a comfortable position. A tachometer lets you know exactly what’s happening with the engine, and a tire pressure monitor keeps you apprised of the rubber situation. Antilock brakes with brake assist and anti-skid are part of the safety features, as well as dual front, front side, and curtain side airbags, as well as front-seat active head restraints.
