The 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT1 is the base trim for this middle-of-the-road trim level, a clear step up from the basic Work Truck and LS trims, but not at the luxury level of the LTZ. The LT1 comes standard with a 4.8-liter V8 with 295 horsepower and 305 lb-ft of torque that gets 14 city/19 highway mpg paired with a four-speed automatic with overdrive. Maximum payload is 1,953 pounds, and its maximum towing capacity is 5,200 pounds.

Exterior features include 17-inch chrome styled-steel wheels with all-season tires, power and heated mirrors, privacy glass, and a full-size spare. The interior features premium cloth seats with driver's lumbar support, cruise control, an adjustable, leather-wrapped steering wheel, illuminated vanity mirrors for driver and passenger, single-zone climate control, an AM/FM/CD stereo with MP3 playback ability, traction control, and Chevy's StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control System.
