Though the 2009 Toyota RAV4 Base V6 4WD is not offered with the necessary accoutrements for serious off-roading, its on-demand four-wheel drive (4WD) and 269-hp, 246-lb-ft/torque 3.5-liter V6 will easily power five passengers through mud, snow, and back roads. The ’09 RAV4 Base V6 is delivered with a standard five-speed automatic transmission to give the Base V6 4WD 19/26 mpg. Towing capacity is rated at 3,500 pounds when equipped with the available Tow Prep Package.
In addition to all the bells and whistles that are standard and optional with the ‘09 RAV4 Base V6, the Base V6 4WD offers a mechanical center differential, electronic on-demand four-wheel drive with a manual hub-lock switch, and the five-speed automatic is configured with both the hill-holder and descent control features.
