2009 Dodge Avenger R/T

Despite a shakeup below, the 2009 Dodge Avenger R/T remains at the top of the Avenger heap. Delivered with a standard 173-hp, 166-lb-ft/torque 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder (I4) engine and standard four-speed automatic, the R/T gets 21-30 mpg. But the ‘09 Avenger R/T more nearly approaches its road/track (R/T) moniker with an available 3.5-liter SOHC V6 engine and its six-speed auto-manual transmission. This team pounds out 235 hp and 232 lb-ft of torque at an EPA-estimated 16/27 mpg.

Standard additional appearance, safety, comfort, and convenience features for the ’09 Avenger R/T over the SE and SXT trims include 18-inch chrome-alloy wheels, four-wheel disc ABS, front fog/driving lights, premium cloth upholstery, an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated outside mirrors, cruise control, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter knob, and 6-CD changer with six speakers. Additional options for the ’09 Avenger R/T include a DVD navigation package, Boston Acoustics speakers, universal garage door opener, and UConnect hands-free communications with Bluetooth technology.
