The 2009 Chrysler PT Cruiser Touring mates a four-speed automatic transmission to its 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, a combination that has been heavily criticized by reviewers. Go for the optional turbo to make up for the sluggish performance with the automatic transmission. Power windows and door locks are now joined by power mirrors, and the wheels are now 16-inch alloys. The cloth front buckets now come with 6-way power with lumbar adjustment for the driver and fold-flat ability for the passenger. Air conditioning, cruise control, and a center console are all included, along with floormats, illuminated visor mirrors, foglights, remote keyless entry, and rear privacy glass. The AM/FM/CD player comes with satellite radio, and a tachometer and trip computer come standard, along with a rear spoiler. Variable-intermittent wipers keep the front glass clear, while the rear is checked by a wiper/washer combo with defogger.
Safety features for the 2009 Chrysler PT Cruiser Touring include dual front and front side airbags, a tire pressure monitor, and a theft-deterrent system.
