2009 Mazda CX-9 Sport AWD

The 2009 Mazda CX-9 Sport AWD shares a drivetrain with the front-wheel-drive Sport (3.7-liter, 273-horse V6 with a six-speed automatic transmission) as well as interior and exterior features. It adds Mazda’s Active Torque Split all-wheel-drive system that utilizes multiple sensors to monitor road conditions and send appropriate power to each wheel. The system adds 220 pounds to the gross vehicle weight (6,025 pounds) and decreases its mileage to 15 city/21 highway mpg. Like all the CX-9 AWD models, the Sport AWD comes with the towing prep package, which increases towing capacity to 3,500 pounds and includes a heavy-duty transmission cooler and a reprogrammed Engine Control Module.
