Preview of 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT8
The 2009 Dodge Challenger grows into a true muscle car in the SRT8 trim. Powered by a standard 6.1-liter Hemi V8 mated with a standard five-speed auto-manual transmission, limited-slip differential, and 20-inch alloy wheels, the SRT8 growls out 425 hp at 6,000 rpm, and 420 lb-ft of torque at 4,800 rpm. Mileage is a wallet-slapping 14/22 mpg, and Dodge recommends premium unleaded only to feed that need for speed.
Additional standard comfort and convenience features for the ’09 Challenger SRT8 include leather, heated front seats, a universal garage door opener, UConnect hands-free communication, and a 276-watt audio system with six Boston Acoustics speakers, wheel-mounted audio controls, and satellite radio. Options include a six-speed manual transmission, three-season performance tires, and the exclusive SRT Option Group, featuring a 13-speaker Kicker audio system with 200-watt subwoofer and 322-watt amp as well as distinctive SRT badging and upholstery accents.
