Preview of 2009 Chevrolet Malibu LT2
The 2009 Chevrolet Malibu LT2 makes noteworthy changes to the drivetrain – the four-speed automatic transmission of the base LS and the LT1 is replaced by a six-speed automatic with overdrive and steering wheel-mounted TAPshift controls. When paired with the four-cylinder engine, this transmission gets 22 city/33 highway mpg, compared to 22/30 for the four-speed. The LT2 also has the option of a 3.6-liter V6, which gets 17/26 mpg.
Other standard upgrades for the LT2 are remote start; two-toned, leather-appointed seats with tipped inserts and accent piping; a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio and cruise controls; Bluetooth wireless technology for select phones; and 17-inch wheels with ultra-bright-finish aluminum.
