The new Vibe 2.4L features a more potent powerplant than the entry-level 1.8L. Its 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine makes 158 horsepower and is mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Optional transmissions include a four-speed automatic and a five-speed automatic; the latter is part of the 1SB package. The 2.4L Vibe speeds from 0 to 60 in about 8 seconds.

Standard features include 16-inch wheels, a four-speaker audio system with satellite radio and a CD player, and a tilt/telescoping steering wheel. An optional Preferred Package adds full power accessories, cruise control, and keyless entry.
