The XL LB features a 97.4-inch bed, which easily exceeds the XL's 78.8-inch bed. Other than that, it's basically the same truck, with one notable exception. As with the XL, you get a standard 4.2-liter, 202-hp V6 engine that can be upgraded to the 4.6-liter, 248-hp V8 or the 5.4-liter, 300-hp V8. Air-conditioning, power door locks, a CD player, and traction control are available as options, while ABS brakes come standard. However, unlike the XL, the XL LB ties with the XLT LB for highest maximum towing capacity among all F-150 trims at an impressive 11,000 lbs. If you have a heavy job in mind, consider the XL LB the least expensive, most powerful trim you can get.
