Low-range gearing lets you take the 2008 Dodge Ram Pickup 1500 SXT Mega Cab 4X4 off-road, and with the TRX optional off-road package, which includes all-terrain tires and skid plates, you get even more versatility. A 345-hp, 5.7-liter HEMI V8 comes with a 5-speed automatic only. The extra weight of the 4WD means towing capacity shrinks to 8,300 pounds. The Mega Cab features two rows, both of which split-fold for extra room. 20 more inches of cabin space keeps the pickup bed at 6.3 feet, but a bed extender can be added. Other add-ons include a cargo net, tow hooks, side rails, a bedliner, tie-downs, a sliding rear window, a rear step bumper, and tubular side rails.
4-wheel disc and ABS brakes are standard, along with dual front airbags, passenger airbag deactivation, side impact door beams, automatic headlights, halogen lamps, 17-inch wheels with all-season tires, and a tire monitor. Optional safety equipment adds foglights, a limited-slip rear differential, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, side curtain airbags, and electronic stability control. A trip computer comes with the Mega Cab, and the 2008 1500 SXT Mega Cab 4X4 also features a full power setup, remote entry, cruise control, a 4-speaker CD player, intermittent wipers, front cupholders and power outlets, a tachometer, and heated mirrors.
There is a long list of options for this 4WD pickup. A MOPAR package tricks out the exterior, which already includes a rear spoiler, by adding more chrome.
