[Edit] The 2008 Dodge Ram Pickup 1500 SXT Mega Cab adds 20 more inches to the cabin length, meaning rear passengers get 44.1 inches of legroom. To provide this passenger comfort, the Mega Cab comes with only the 6.3-foot pickup bed. Mega doesn't refer only to the cabin, however. The standard engine is the 5.7-liter, 345-hp HEMI V8 that delivers 375 ft-lbs of torque and only 13/18 mpg. A 5-speed automatic is the only transmission on this rear-wheel-drive pickup.
17-inch steel wheels with all-season tires are standard, and all-terrain tires are available. The 2008 Ram Pickup 1500 SXT Mega Cab also adds standard 4-wheel ABS with its 4-wheel disc brakes and electronic brakeforce distribution. Other safety equipment includes dual front and knee airbags, side impact door beam, a tire monitor, automatic headlights, and halogen lamps. Daytime running lights, foglights, side curtain airbags, and electronic stability with sway control are optional.
The Mega Cab seats six in three rows, with split-folding rear seats. The bed can be outfitted with side rails, a bedliner, tie-downs, a cargo net, and tow package to tow up to 8,800 pounds. A rear step bumper, tubular side rails, body-side moldings, chrome bumper and sliding rear window are also extra. Inside the 2008 Ram Pickup 1500 SXT Mega Cab you'll get full power features, heated mirrors, remote entry, a CD player, cruise control, tachometer, tilt steering, intermittent wipers, and front power outlets. The Mega trim adds a trip computer. Options for the Mega add more comfort and convenience and include remote start, a navigation system, 6-CD changer and MP3 player, satellite radio, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, Bluetooth, upgraded audio, leather trim, a power driver's seat, a rear DVD player, and a universal remote.
