Updated exterior styling and extra interior space are complemented by the addition of new standard features and more horsepower in the 2008 Honda Accord Coupe LX-S. The base trim of the sports coupe features a 2.4-liter, 190-hp DOHC iVTEC four-cylinder engine with choice of 5-speed manual or 5-speed automatic transmission. The front-wheel drive coupe rides on 17-inch alloy wheels and a double wishbone front and multilink rear suspension. Joining standard safety features such as 4-wheel ABS brakes, dual front-side and side curtain airbags, halogen headlights, daytime running lights, and a tire monitor is a traction and stability control system. The 2008 Accord Coupe has not yet been rated in crash tests. Fuel economy averages around 22/31 mpg.

Interior updates include now standard wheel-mounted cruise and audio controls for the 6-CD/MP3 player. These join a full power setup, intermittent wipers, tilt and telescopic steering, remote entry, and a tachometer. Adding three inches in length and one inch in width improves passenger comfort and legroom. Front seats flip and side, and rear seats split-fold onto a 12 cubic-foot trunk, which can be equipped with tie-downs and a net. A new front center console doubles as a sliding armrest. On the outside, a rear deck spoiler and body colored moldings add a sleek and sporty look. Options add satellite radio, Bluetooth capability, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.
