[Edit] With the 3.5-liter, 244-hp VTEC V6 and 5-speed automatic under its hood, the 2008 Honda Odyssey EX achieves 16/23 mpg. The front-wheel drive compact minivan seats eight in three rows, with cargo capacity expanding from 38 to 147 cubic feet with all seats folded and/or removed. Split-folding features allow for flexibility. Five-star safety features include 4-wheel disc and ABS brakes, traction and stability control, a tire monitor, halogen headlights, and dual front-side and side curtain airbags for all rows. Daytime running lights are new this year, as is an optional rearview camera. Foglights and an auto-dimming rearview mirror are extra. The 16-inch alloy wheels with all-season tires support a front and rear independent suspension.
The 2008 Odyssey EX upgrades from the base model by adding a 6-CD changer (in addition to the newly standard MP3 compatibility and input jack) and power dual sliding doors. Other upgrades include climate control for all three rows, a security system, wheel-mounted audio controls, a garage opener and two extra cupholders, for a total of 15. That means two beverages per person. A roof rack is also standard on the EX. These join standard equipment such as full power features, cruise control, remote entry, and intermittent front and rear wipers. A new second row storage bin joins the in-floor storage compartments and retractable trays and armrests to accommodate changing passenger and cargo configurations. A cargo cover and net are optional. Bluetooth, a navigation system, DVD player, a towing package, and satellite radio are also available.
