Adding some muscle to its profile, the 2008 MAZDA3 s Sport gets a bigger engine than the i trim. The 2.3-liter DOHC inline four with variable valve timing delivers 156 hp and 150 ft-lbs of torque. A 5-speed manual is standard, and a 5-speed automatic with overdrive is optional. Sitting on a firmer front independent and rear multilink suspension, the 2008 MAZDA3 s Sport uses its 16-inch alloy wheels with all-season tires to hug the roads, and its interior sport seats keep drivers snug. Unlike the i Sport, the s Sport comes standard with ABS brakes and electronic brakeforce distribution, along with 4-wheel disc brakes.
