Not available in the Base model, the all-wheel-drive system in the 2008 Dodge Magnum SXT AWD comes with a mechanical center differential and a 5-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. This is matched to a standard 3.5-liter, 250-hp V6 or an optional 5.4-liter, 340-hp Hemi V8. The extra road grip is supplemented by larger 18-inch alloy wheels with all-season tires, standard traction and stability control, electronic brakeforce distribution, and 4-wheel ABS and disc brakes. Foglights and a tire-pressure monitor are also standard. The 2008 Magnum SXT AWD starts with only dual front airbags, but side curtain airbags are available for both rows. Daytime running lights, automatic headlights, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror are other options.

The SXT seats five in two rows, with the back row elevated stadium-style and featuring 40 inches of legroom. SXT upgrades include an 8-way power driver's seat, satellite radio, and heated mirrors. These join full power features, remote entry, cruise control, intermittent front and rear wipers, a tachometer, temperature display, tilt and telescopic steering, a security system, and a CD/MP3 player with iPod hookup. Rear seats receive cupholders and a fold-down armrest, and split-fold 60/40 to expand the 27 cubic-foot-trunk to 72 cubic feet. An optional roof rack adds more storage. Most of the add-ons are comfort oriented and include a power passenger seat, navigation system, heated leather seats, dual-zone climate control, a 6-CD changer, and a sunroof. Also available are satellite radio and backseat TV and a DVD player, complete with remote control and wireless headphones.
