Building on the already well-equipped LT1, the 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer LT2 adds, leather seats and leather trim, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a trip computer, compass display, and wheel-mounted audio controls for the CD player. Rear audio controls are also included. The rear-wheel drive SUV seats five in two rows, with 60/40 split-folding rear seats, and various storage consoles, pockets, and front and rear cupholders. Riding on a front double wishbone and rear live axle suspension and 17-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, the 2008 Trailblazer LT2 is powered by a 4.2-liter, 285-hp DOHC I6 and 4-speed HydraMatic transmission. A 5.3-liter, 300-hp V8 with variable valve displacement is optional.
Along with the added features, the LT2 features new side curtain airbags and dual front bags, stability control, 4-wheel ABS brakes and electronic brakeforce distribution, and such conveniences as foglights, automatic headlights, and daytime running lights. New satellite radio, cruise control, full power features, an 8-way power driver's seat, a security system, tachometer, a universal remote, tilt steering wheel, intermittent front and rear wipers, and roof rack are standard, and the cargo area features tie-downs and a light and can hold up to 80 cubic feet. With rear-wheel drive, the LT2 can tow up to 6800 pounds with the standard trailer hitch and wiring. Options add larger 18-inch wheels, side step rails, a sunroof, an off-roading package, and a cargo net and cover. Not offered on the LT1, but available on the LT2 is a DVD system.
