2008 Audi A4 3.2 Cabriolet Quattro Summary
Powerful and agile, the 2008 Audi A4 3.2 Cabriolet Quattro delivers improved traction and stability over all types of road surfaces, thanks to its Quattro permanent all-wheel-drive system. In addition, the Cabriolet Quattro comes equipped with a fully automatic convertible top, which retracts at the press of a button, at speeds up to 18 miles per hour. For a quieter cabin, drivers can opt for the available acoustic convertible top.
While the Quattro all-wheel-drive system adds some weight to the upscale convertible, drivers and reviewers note the 3.2 Cabriolet Quattro maintains good overall balance and performance, due primarily to its 255-horsepower, 3.2-liter V6 engine. The V6 links to a six-speed automatic transmission with Tiptronic, which enables drivers to shift manually using paddle shifters mounted behind the steering-wheel spokes.
Heated front seats, which have three heat settings and heated side sections, have been added as standard equipment for 2008. Other standard features include a wind deflector, which helps reduce turbulence in the cabin with the roof down, as well as 12-way power-adjustable front seats, leather seating throughout, a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel and shift knob, dual-zone climate control, powered and heated exterior mirrors, and a remote locking system.
Drivers and reviewers give the 3.2 Cabriolet Quattro good marks for its performance and handling, thanks to its Servotronic speed-sensitive power steering, four-link front suspension, and 17-inch cast alloy wheels with all-season tires. Some note, however, that the Cabriolet's electronics systems could use an upgrade. The current configuration consists of an Audi Symphony AM/FM audio system with MP3 capability and a six-disc CD changer.
Options include a more-dynamic sport suspension, front sport seats, Beige Birch or Walnut wood decorative inlays, heated rear seats, and an electronic parking system.
