2008 Ford Expedition EL XLT Summary

Drivers who need more cargo space than they'll get with the standard-length Expedition XLT can opt for the 2008 Expedition EL XLT, which stretches the Expedition's overall length by nearly 15 inches to provide 24 more cubic feet of cargo volume. Overall, the EL XLT provides a total of nearly 131 cubic feet of cargo space. And for easy loading and unloading, drivers can fold the second and third rows of seats down to create a flat load floor.

Although the EL XLT comes with a limited list of standard features, it still includes AdvanceTrac traction control with Roll Stability Control (RSC), a four-wheel antilock braking system with brake assist, Ford's Safety Canopy system with front and side airbags (including third-row side airbags), and a tire pressure monitoring system.

Other standard features include first-row cloth captain's chairs, power windows and door locks, speed control, an MP3 input jack for the six-speaker AM/FM/CD sound system, rear-floor heat ducts, a cargo organizer, and a keyless entry keypad, which is a new feature for 2008.

A 300-horsepower, 5.4-liter V8 engine ably drives the Expedition XLT, though gas mileage suffers. The engine links to a smooth-shifting six-speed overdrive transmission.

The Expedition XLT 4WD seats eight passengers. A fully boxed frame, independent rear suspension, front fog lights, and an underbody full-size spare tire are among its other features.
