2008 Ford Expedition EL Limited

The 2008 Ford Expedition EL Limited gives drivers more of what they want -- in this case, more upscale features and more cargo space, thanks to the fact that the full-size SUV's overall length has been stretched by nearly 15 inches. That results in 24 more cubic feet of cargo space, when compared to the standard Limited model. A rear cargo organizer, part of the standard equipment package, helps drivers keep all their extra cargo neat and in place, according to Ford.

Inside, the Expedition EL Limited comes well-equipped with a number of luxury-oriented features, including a wood-tone, leather-wrapped steering wheel and leather-trimmed, 10-way power adjustable front captain's chairs. The front seats feature power lumbar and a reclining function, and are heated and cooled with three levels of comfort settings, which adds to the Limited EL's luxurious feel.

Ford also added a Convenience Package to the Expedition Limited EL's list of standard features. The Convenience Package includes power-adjustable pedals with a memory setting, power rear quarter windows, a universal garage door opener, and a reverse sensing system. A luggage rack, running boards, and heated power folding mirrors with a memory function and a signal feature are also included with the Limited EL package.

A 300-horsepower, 5.4-liter V8 engine ably drives the Expedition Limited, though gas mileage suffers due to the engine size. The engine links to a smooth-shifting six-speed overdrive transmission. AdvanceTrac traction control with Roll Stability Control (RSC), a Safety Canopy system with side airbags (including third-row side airbags), and a tire pressure monitoring system are also part of the Limited EL package.
