A new model offering for 2008, the Honda Pilot SE 4WD combines four-wheel-drive capability with a high-end range of standard features that includes a power moonroof with a tilt feature and a DVD Rear Entertainment System.
For adventuring drivers, the 2008 Pilot SE 4WD comes equipped with a VTM-4 (Variable Torque Management) four-wheel-drive system, which automatically switches into extreme low-traction mode when driving on ice, mud, or loose gravel. The system provides the Pilot SE 4WD with a towing capacity of 4,500 pounds.
The 2008 Pilot SE 4WD also comes with an extensive list of additional standard features, including an eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat, a synchronized automatic climate control system, power windows and door locks, steering-wheel-mounted audio controls, cruise control, a remote entry system, and a seven-speaker AM/FM stereo system with XM satellite radio and a six-disc CD changer.
A traction control system, Brake Assist, and antilock brakes aid drivers in emergency situations, while a 244-horsepower, 3.5-liter i-VTEC V6 engine provides plenty of power for just about any driving situation. The engine links to a five-speed automatic transmission designed for fuel efficiency and smooth shifting.
While the 2008 Honda Pilot sports a somewhat dated design, since it's nearing the end of its current generation, it remains a functional, well-equipped vehicle that comfortably seats eight passengers and offers plenty of interior space for large and busy families or adventuring drivers.
