[Edit] Like the rest of the Corolla lineup, the Corolla CE received a design refresh for 2008, which included a more aerodynamic front end with an edgier front fascia treatment and multi-reflector halogen headlights. Other exterior elements include black protective body-side moldings and a chrome grille surround.
Overall, though, the 2008 Corolla CE retains the basic elements that have made it one of the world's bestselling cars, including an affordable price, a fuel-efficient engine, and a safe, comfortable interior.
Standard features include a direct tire-pressure monitoring system, a tilt steering wheel, a 60/40 split fold-down rear seat, an AM/FM audio system with a CD player, and 15-inch wheels.
The Corolla CE's 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine provides 126 horsepower, which is adequate but not overwhelming power. The engine links to a standard five-speed manual transmission or an optional four-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission.
