[Edit] The Nissan Altima 3.5 SE is the higher-end version of the Japanese automaker's popular four-door, front-wheel-drive sedan. For 2008, it received only minimal upgrades, since it was completely redesigned the previous year. Among the only upgrades were standard anti-lock brakes with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (which adjust braking depending on passenger weight and cargo), a new antenna, and factory-installed XM satellite radio, which is available as an option.
As its name implies, the 2008 Altima 3.5 SE is powered by a 3.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine that produces 270-horsepower. A six-speed manual transmission is standard, while a smooth CVT (continuously variable transmission) with manual shift control is available as an option.
Interior features for the 2008 Altima 3.5 SE include easy-to-read Fine Vision gauges and LCD readouts, aluminum trim or optional wood-tone accents, and six standard airbags. Other features include an Intelligent Key system with push-button ignition, a six-speaker AM/FM stereo system with a CD player and MP3 input, and an optional Bluetooth hands-free phone system.
The 3.5 SE also comes with power-adjustable front seats, a power sliding glass moon roof, traction control, fog lights, heated exterior mirrors, and 17-inch aluminum wheels.
Drivers gave the 2007 Altima high marks for its improved appearance, responsive handling, and road-hugging performance, and those attributes continue to apply to the 2008 model, making it a good value in the eyes of many drivers.
