2008 Chrysler Sebring Base Summary
After being out of showrooms for a year, the Chrysler Sebring Convertible two-door Base model returned to the lineup as a 2008 model with a major redesign, which included a new hood, grille, and wheels, but the big news was the addition of an optional retractable hardtop, the first in the car's history. The hardtop raises and lowers at the touch of a button and stores compactly in the trunk. A power-retractable black vinyl convertible top was standard with the Sebring Convertible.
Another new option was the available back-seat windscreen, which helps reduce turbulence for front-seat passengers. When not in use, the windscreen stores in the trunk.
The 2008 Sebring Convertible Base model was equipped with a 2.4-liter double-overhead-cam, dual variable-valve timing (DVVT) inline four-cylinder engine that produces 173 horsepower. A four-speed automatic transmission was standard.
Standard features for the Sebring Convertible included six-way power-adjustable front bucket seats, power rack-and-pinion steering, a sport steering wheel, air conditioning, power door locks, a keyless entry system, a rear window defroster, and an AM/FM stereo system with an in-dash six-disc DVD/MP3 player.
Among the Sebring Convertible's many options were a MyGIG Multimedia Infotainment System with Sirius satellite radio and GPS navigation, heated front seats, and heated and cooled cupholders.
