The 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Work Truck (WT) trim with the Extended Cab is a four-door truck with maximum seating for six. It is powered by a 6.0-liter Vortec V8 engine that produces 353 horsepower. A 6.6-liter Duramax Diesel V8, which produces 365 horsepower, is optional.

The standard transmission is a six-speed Hydra-Matic automatic, which has a Tow/Haul mode and a Tap Up/Tap Down shift control lever attached to the steering wheel. The shift control enables the driver to manually shift up or down, depending on cargo and driving conditions.

The Work Truck is the Silverado's entry-level trim package, and comes with a limited list of standard features, including OnStar, an illuminated entry system, two auxiliary power outlets, dual glove boxes, an AM/FM audio system, dual cargo-area lights, and foldaway exterior mirrors.
