This specific Ram 1500 trim is the most well equipped of all the basic ST-trim-level trucks. The work-oriented ST is available with the larger Quad Cab body style, but not the Mega Cab. The ST trim includes only what Dodge has determined are the bare necessities: a CD player and air conditioning.

Extras here include the longer 8-foot bed and Dodge's electronically controlled 4WD system. The four-wheel-drive 2500 has a solid front axle and recirculating-ball steering setup, versus the 4x2's independent front suspension and rack-and-pinion steering.
