The top offering in the LX line of this redesigned compact SUV is the 2005 Kia Sportage LX V6 4WD, which packs more power and better road handling, thanks to a 2.7-liter, 173-hp DOHC V6 engine, 4-speed Sportmatic, 16-inch alloy wheels, and On-Demand four-wheel drive, which automatically apportions torque.  These are packaged with skid plates, ABS brakes, traction and stability control, a center locking differential, and front and rear stabilizer bars.  Lack of low-range gearing, however, means you can't take the 2005 Sportage LX V6 4WD off-roading.
