2007 MINI Cooper S Convertible Summary

Despite a redesign of the MINI Cooper hatchback models for 2007, the MINI Cooper S two-door convertible retained the same exterior design and engine as the previous year's model.

The MINI Cooper S convertible was equipped with a powered soft-top roof that opened fully in just 15 seconds, or could be opened partially over the front seats like a sunroof. When fully open, the roof stowed in a compartment above the trunk. The convertible top came with a heated rear glass window.

The MINI Cooper S convertible was powered by a supercharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that produced 168 horsepower. A six-speed manual Getrag transmission was standard, while a six-speed automatic was available as an option.

The MINI Cooper S convertible came with such standard features as air conditioning, power windows, power door locks, dual front and side airbags, an AM/FM stereo system with a CD player, remote keyless entry, and anti-lock brakes. It also came with 16-inch tires, a functional hood scoop, traction control, and a sport suspension. Leather seats and a navigation system were among the options.

Overall, drivers thought the MINI Cooper S convertible was a fun car to drive, with quick acceleration, a sporty ride, and pinpoint handling, all in a package you could easily park just about anywhere. Some drivers noted that the back seat was a tight fit for anyone older than a teenager, and that the ride could be a little too stiff at times, but overall drivers gave the MINI Cooper high marks.
