2006 Toyota RAV4 Base V6 Summary
Toyota brings forth the third generation RAV4 for the 2006 model year. The RAV's Corolla platform has been replaced with a larger foundation, and the small SUV has "grown up" in both appearance and size: the overall length has stretched two feet and the exterior presentation is more refined.
Standard features with the base trim include an MP3-compatible CD audio system, power windows and door locks, cruise control, air conditioning, privacy glass and 17-inch wheels.
This model is highlighted by a new more powerful 3.5 liter V-6, paired with a new transmission. The refined Dual VVT-i engine delivers 269 horsepower and 246 pound-feet of torque, and it is teamed with a more refined five speed electronically controlled automatic transmission. The addition of the V-6 bumps towing capacity from 1500 to 3500 pounds, and fuel economy is estimated at 22/29 mpg with two-wheel drive.
