2007 Mercedes-Benz CL600 Base

The 2007 Mercedes-Benz CL600 luxury coupe is powered by a 6.0-liter, 32-valve, bi-turbo all-aluminum V-12 engine that produces 510 horsepower. Helping to channel all that power under the hood is a five-speed automatic transmission with electronically controlled shifting and a driver-adaptive system that adjusts shift points depending on the driver's style. The transmission also includes a driver-selectable Comfort mode, which adjusts upshifts at a lower rpm for better control in difficult driving conditions.

Redesigned for 2007, the CL600 is longer, wider, sleeker, and more luxurious than its predecessors. The pillarless design of previous models remains, but the new CL600 has a more aggressive stance, flared wheel wells, a new grille and front end with a front air dam, a more aerodynamic tail, and super-sharp 18-inch five-spoke light-alloy wheels.

Traditionally, the CL-Class vehicles have received all the latest Mercedes technologies, and the CL600 is no exception. An Electronic Stability Program monitors steering and braking to keep the car stable and balanced under aggressive driving, while an Active Body Control (ABC) stability system helps reduce body roll to ensure a comfortable yet sporty ride. Anti-lock brakes and Brake Assist are also part of the package.

Also new is a PRE-SAFE system, which works with the Brake Assist and Electronic Stability Program to sense impending accidents and, in an emergency situation, adjust the seats and close the sunroof and windows to ensure optimal safety for the driver and passengers.

In addition, the CL600 is equipped with Night View Assist, which can detect objects up to 500 feet away even in near-darkness.

Interior features are numerous, and include 14-way power-adjustable front seats with three memory settings, three-level heated front seats, exclusive leather upholstery and trim, hand-polished Poplar wood dash and trim, a leather and wood-trimmed heated steering wheel, steering-wheel-mounted shift buttons and audio controls, adjustable LED interior ambient lighting, an electronic truck closer, standard SIRIUS Satellite radio, an 11-speaker Harmon/Kardon digital surround-sound stereo system, and an electronic parking brake that automatically disengages when the car is put in gear and gas is applied.

Other standard features include a power tilt and sliding sunroof, an electronically heated rear window, rain-sensing intermittent wipers, dual heated power mirrors linked to the driver's seat memory, a Variable Doorstop feature that holds the driver's door open at virtually any point, bi-xenon high-intensity headlights, front fog lamps, a Smart Key remote locking system, and Touch Turn Signals that flash three times with one touch for lane shifting and signaling.
