2007 Land Rover Range Rover Sport HSE Summary
The Range Rover Sport was introduced in 2006 as a more compact, road-oriented variation of the long-running Range Rover SUV. The Sport represents Range Rover's first attempt at a performance-focused vehicle. While this may be new ground, the Sport retains many of the upscale land Rover's boxy styling cues, but the with edges are softened for better aerodynamics.
The Sport is carried over from the 2006 model year, but Bluetooth has been added as a standard feature.
The HSE trim provides buyers a way to get into a Range Rover for under $60, 000. The HSE comes equipped with leather seats, 19 inch wheels, dual climate control, a premium Harmon-Kardon audio system with 14 speakers and an in-dash CD changer, and a navigation system. A rear seat DVD entertainment system is optional.
A 4.4 liter V-8 provides the power, with an output of 300 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. The V-8 is paired with a highly refined and remarkably intelligent six speed automatic transmission, which adapts to both road conditions and driver idiosyncrasies. The Sport is also a very capable 4x4, but tuning is focused toward on-road performance. The 14/20 mpg fuel economy is acceptable for a 5500 pound SUV.
