2007 Scion tC Base MT Summary
Scion introduces the tC "Spec" trim level for the 2007 model year. Prior to this addition, just one fairly well-equipped tC was available. The Spec is simplified version, stripped down to the essentials to provide buyers with an opportunity for even further Scion customization. The Spec is priced below the Base trim, but it still includes air-conditioning, keyless entry, folding and reclining rear seats, power windows and door locks, and an XM-ready Pioneer CD sound system.
Actually, its pretty well-appointed, with a considerably long list of features for a car in its price class. Although the tC Spec is described as "stripped down," it offers as much as other Scion models like the xA and xB. However, Scion is trying to establish an image here. In the company's effort to appeal to younger buyers, the Toyota subsidiary focuses on the potential for personalization. The Spec trim is intended as a starting point.
The tC is a small coupe with a hatchback style rear dec, measuring just 174 inches long and weighing about 2900 pounds. For its size, the tC offers an abundance of power and cargo space. Folding the rear seat flat will reveal 60 cubic feet of cargo space. The 2.4 liter VVT-i engine provides 161 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque, which propels the tC from 0 to 60 mph in 7.8 seconds. A five speed manual transmission comes standard on this model, but an electronically controlled four speed automatic is also available.
